This clinic will help you understand your mule's behavior. You will learn why your mule may spin and go off, why he may be afraid on the trail,
why he may lean on you, etc. Get all your questions answered so you can answer your mule's questions!
Trail Riding with Confidence
Would you like to build your trail riding skills and confidence as well as your mule's? Does your mule rush up or down slopes? Does he do more
sightseeing on the trail than you? Is he more worried about the other equines than about what you ask him to do? Would you like to learn how
to navigate trail obstacles and gates safely? Then this is the clinic for you and your mule! Steve will help you with every detail of trail
riding to learn safety and have fun on the trail whether you're out with a group or on your own.
The Halter: Key to My Mule and Donkey Foundation
Are you having communication problems with your mule or donkey? Is he getting in your space? Won’t lead? No backup? Wanting to go his own direction?
Steve Edwards will show you the answer. It is as simple as your halter. Steve will help you understand how mules and donkeys think, and give you
the steps to have your animal learn solid ground communication. Steve will teach you how to use the Come-Along Hitch, and the secret to rope halter
adjustment.
Bit and Saddle
What is bit foundation? What bit should I use? Is a bit better then a mechanical hack? What are bars? What is the difference between a horse saddle
and Steve’s mule saddle? If you have these questions and more or you want to have more knowledge on these subjects and more then be at this clinic.

ABOUT EQUINE ASSISTED LEARNING
Equine Assisted Therapy (EAP) and Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) use horses for emotional growth and learning. The collaboration between therapist, equine professional and horse helps participants learn about themselves and others by completing specific activities.
The EAP/EAL treatment program uses horses as a tool for emotional growth and learning, creating a short-term collaborative approach among the participants. Learning is achieved during EAP/EAL when participants process feelings, behavior and patterns while learning about themselves and others.
EAL produces endless experiences and situations for discussion, analysis and learning. Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) is a new and growing field that has proven to be very effective in building confidence, improving communication skills, and providing personal insights that give participants fresh and effective problem-solving tools.
Non-verbal communication, assertiveness, creative problem solving, leadership, work, taking responsibility, teamwork, relationships, confidence, and attitude are some examples of the tools utilized and developed by Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. By working with a large, powerful horse, participants are able to develop confidence and overcome fears, allowing them to take their new skills into intimidating and challenging situations in their everyday life.
Healing Reigns is proud to be one of the few counseling services offering this innovative new therapy program in Arizona.

WHY HORSES?
• Working with large and powerful animals helps participants overcome fear. Accomplishing tasks involving horses, in spite of this fear, creates confidence and helps the participants deal with other intimidating situations in life.
• Like humans, horses have distinct personalities. They provide opportunities for metaphorical learning. Using metaphors is an effective technique when working with even the most challenging individuals or groups.
• Horses can mirror human body language. Participants learn if they change their behavior, the horses will respond differently.
• Horses are honest, which makes them especially powerful messengers.
Some specific benefits of Equine Assisted Psychotherapy:
o Improves communication and teamwork skills
o Encourages the development of healthy relationships
o Provides problem solving and success over obstacles
o Builds confidence and self-esteem
o Provides a unique structure for family therapy
